Jersey Hijabs

A jersey hijab is a stretchy knit scarf that grips on its own, so it holds a wrap in place without pins — the easiest everyday hijab for beginners, busy days and active routines. Every jersey hijab from Wazi Empire comes as a set with a free hijab cap in a coordinating shade.

If you are looking for a cotton hijab, these are it: cotton jersey hijabs with a touch of spandex for four-way stretch. The soft knit has a natural surface texture that grips rather than slides, and the stretch lets the scarf shape to your head instead of sitting stiffly on top. Worn over the included cap, most people need no pins at all.

Each premium jersey hijab measures 70.9 × 27.6 inches (180 × 70 cm) and gives full, opaque chest-length coverage in a single layer, which also makes it practical as a prayer hijab. Because it stays put through movement, jersey doubles as a sports hijab for the gym, a run or a long shift on your feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a jersey hijab?
A jersey hijab is a stretchy knit scarf that grips on its own, so it holds a wrap in place without pins. Wazi Empire's jersey hijabs are cotton jersey with a touch of spandex for four-way stretch.
What colors do jersey hijabs come in?
Neutrals like black, grey and brown cover everyday wear, while gold, purple and red suit occasions and Eid. The black jersey hijab is the staple most people start with. Browse the collection to see what's currently in stock.
Do jersey hijabs come with a hijab cap?
Yes. Every jersey hijab comes as a set with a free tube-style hijab cap in a coordinating shade, so there is nothing extra to buy.
Is a jersey hijab see-through?
No. Cotton jersey gives full, opaque coverage in a single layer.
What size is a jersey hijab?
70.9 × 27.6 inches (180 × 70 cm), rectangular, long enough for full chest-length coverage. The cap is one size with a stretch fit.
Can I wear a jersey hijab for sports or the gym?
Yes. The four-way stretch and pin-free hold keep it in place through workouts, and cotton jersey is breathable.
Jersey or modal — which should I choose?
Jersey has more stretch and grip, so it is the easiest for beginners and active days. Modal is softer with a more fluid drape for everyday and dressier looks.
Is a jersey hijab good for beginners?
Yes — jersey is one of the easiest hijab fabrics to start with. The natural stretch conforms to the shape of your head, holds without slipping, and gives a polished look without advanced wrapping or pinning. A neutral shade is the easiest first choice.
What's the difference between a jersey hijab and a modal hijab?
Both are soft and comfortable, with different strengths. Jersey has a heavier, more structured feel with strong stretch, which makes it feel secure and easy to style. Modal is lighter with a smooth, fluid drape, which suits hot weather and layered styles. Which you choose comes down to climate and preference.
Is a jersey hijab suitable for all-day wear at work or school?
Yes. The medium weight and structured drape keep it looking neat from morning to evening, so there's no need to readjust every hour. It works for office days, university, retail shifts and long days on your feet.
Do I need pins with a jersey hijab?
Usually not. The knit grips on its own, and worn over the included cap most people wear it with no pins at all.
How do you style a jersey hijab for a clean, polished look?
Start with the hijab cap for grip, then drape the hijab gently and tuck one side to create a seamless front frame. Keeping the wrap clean gives you a sharp front line. A simple one-sided drape over the shoulder works well for the office. The stretch lets you layer and tuck without added bulk, which builds coverage and volume.
Is a jersey hijab good for travel?
Yes. Jersey is wrinkle-resistant, so it packs flat and springs back into shape. The stretch keeps it comfortable on long flights and busy travel days without feeling tight or restrictive.
What outfits pair best with a jersey hijab?
Brown and red shades work with earth tones and neutral outfits. Grey goes with almost anything. Purple looks striking against white, black or dusty rose. Gold brings warmth to darker outfits. The colors are chosen to sit alongside what's already in your wardrobe rather than compete with it.
How do I wash a jersey hijab?
A gentle machine cycle in cold water works well, or hand wash with a mild detergent. Press the water out rather than wringing, then lay flat or hang to dry in the shade. Avoid hot water, bleach, fabric softener and the tumble dryer. Cared for this way, it keeps its shape, softness and color through many washes.
